Switching to IP .Board

I am excited to tell you guys that we will be moving Plans have changed and we will no longer be upgrading to vBulletin 4, but instead will be converting over to the new IP .Board 3.

The board is chalked full of great features that are going to contribute to TK once again becoming a giant, and will take advantage of new features in this Web 2.0 world that we live.

It's facebook and Invision board in one?

Well Invision Board has embraced what is Web 2.0 in both the coding of the product and the features.

The thing that I was looking forward to the most about vBulletin 4 was that you could do friendly URLs for the forums, and that the forum skins were all going to be DIV based rather than TABLE based.

Looking at vB 4.0 it looks like they got the friendly URLs wrong from an SEO perspective, so that was a downer.

By chance I looked at Invision Board and saw that they had a new version out that was coded in semantic HTML and has a ton of great built in features. For instance, you can either register for the forums or post via your facebook account via facebook connect. You can do that with vBulletin yes, but not out of the box.

Also there is a CMS system that I also purchased that should make getting this site moving a little easier for me, and a lot easier for users with access to update.

I'm pretty interested in seeing what it looks like when Aaron is done modding it up TK-style. I've been messing around with a demo board and I think I'm going to like it when it's ready.

I'm waiting to get paid for this big project I just wrapped up, and hopefully then I will have enough cash to coast on for a month or so without working on paying jobs...

Who invented the monetary system anyway
