A hot new Christopher Reeve collectible, museum-quality figure is due out in the fourth quarter of 2011.

I first saw a listing for the item, produced by Hot Toys, Inc. at Fanboy Collectibles.

This figure has an amazing likeness to the actor who starred in four movies as the Superman. The cool thing about the Fanboy Collectibles post is that the vendor has announced that it will be donating a portion of sales for the item to The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to funding research to cure spinal cord injury. As you know, Reeve was tragically struck down by spinal cord injury himself, and later died from complications related to his condition.

I replied to this on the main page, but the reply didn't happen here. Chop chop on that Aaron! (Heh, kidding, I could never figure out how to make that happen myself, but of course, I suck at this kind of thing)

But anyway... check it out. He's cross-eyed.

Note: after posting this, I revised the hell out of it. Then hit the back button, which undid my update, but kept this, not knowing it kept this I posted a second one saying pretty much what I just said after I typed "Note:" then hit reply, and now there's two posts in a row, one of which is irreverent and the other talking waaay more about the posts themselves and the technicalities and not the actual topic... which would again, circle back to two words. "Cross-eyed". I also used the word "pubes" in my unposted update.

Also... now that I'm on a roll and "pubes" got me thinking... this is supposed to be, what, the most realistic replica of a real person pretending to be a fictional character ever while wearing an actual cloth costume that isn't Mego or something? Then who ever sculpted the mold spent alot of time trying to get just the right bludge in ol' Supes up there. That's an odd thing to think about. (Now you're all going to go look and once it's been seen it can't be unseen... unless you're like me and drink a whole bunch then it's pretty damn easy to unsee most things... of course, with that you might unsee Super-Dick up there, but you'll also unsee your 10th birthday, which might be a good thing if your weird uncle wanted you to check out his super-buldge on your 10th birthday... was that just me? I'm just going to stop talking now)

LOL

Hot Toys makes awesome figures that are just too far from an acceptable price range for me. (I say this as I prepare to spend roughly $400 on Transformers in the next few days.)
